The Team Behind Paws 2 Party
Meet Jane & Darryl, together we bring over six decades of hands-on experience working with dogs of every size, breed and temperament. We’re not just trainers - we’re lifelong animal lovers who understand that every dog is part of the family. We have been together for 13years and married for 7. We have a two year old daughter and two retired police dogs (Plus a Cat, some fish and horses).
A bit about Jane...
I have owned animals all her life. Horses, rabbits, dogs and cats.
Over the last 14 years I have worked and trained my own gun dog. I have been around Darryl's working police dogs for years and have helped out training them when needed. I love nothing more than a crazy energetic dog.
I am the brains behind Paws2party and do all of the admin work etc. Darryl just turns up and takes all of the glory because his ability to work and train dogs is 100% better than his ability to complete admin duties on a computer!!! Please don't tell him I said this 🙂
A bit about Darryl...
I started my working life as a carpenter but after 12 yrs of hard graft and living out of a suitcase came a moment of madness.
On the spur of the moment I applied to join the police.!
6 months later and by some sort of miracle or, admin error I was offered a position.!
During my initial first 6yrs service I saw numerous fast police cars turn up at jobs with angry police dogs in the back.
In 2004 after numerous tests,exams & interviews I joined West Midlands Police Dog Unit. I loved the job so much I remained on the unit for the next 20yrs retiring at the age of 55 in 2024.
During my time in the dog unit I worked and trained numerous police dogs from German Shepards to Springer Spaniels. All of which had to pass ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) accredited courses on an annual basis in order to continue working on the front line. This is a nationally recognised standard & qualification.
From sniffing out guns, drugs & cash to tracking & locating criminals or working as part of a firearms team. All of the dogs I've worked and helped train have come with their own challenges.
Over the years I've had many sleepless nights trying to figure out why a particular dog is doing what it’s doing during training. There’s no “1 size fits all” when it comes to training dogs. Training needs to be changed & adapted to the individual dog but above all the dog should enjoy it, and so should you.!
Over the years with the experience ive gained ive also helped people train their own personal pets. From issues with dog aggression to introducing dogs to children.
It gives me great personal pleasure to be able to help people with their dogs, some of whom are at the wits end with the dogs' behaviour.

Is my dog too crazy to attend my wedding?
Having worked/trained many dogs over the last 20 years in our opinion no dog is too crazy to go to a wedding. With our online training and the fact we will be there on the day should make you rest assured that the best guest will be there on your big day.
Do you provide extra one to one training if needed?
Yes we do. Should you want one to one training this can be done with Darryl over zoom to discuss your concerns or a visit to your address.
How long will my dog take to train?
Every dog is different. Don't set yourself unreasonable goals. Nice and steady so you both learn together. If your dog doesn't get it straight away just go back to the beginning and keep trying. It's not a race.
How long will I have access to the program for?
You will have lifetime access to the course. You will also be put into a Whatsapp group if you wish with other couples who are also training their dog ready for the big day. You can chat with each other, ask questions, send videos etc and also Jane and Daz will be in the group to answer any problems.
Is my dog too nervous to attend my wedding?
For some dogs a wedding day will just not be for them. We have worked with many nervous dogs and if you can start the training straight away and give yourself a good amount of time before the wedding there is no reason why your dog cannot attend your wedding. Even if just for a few photos.
What qualifications do you have?
Darryl was a police dog hander for 20 years. He has worked and trained numerous dogs. Every year Darryl and his dog would have to pass an ACPO ( Association of Chief Police Officers) Accredited training course which is to a national recognised standard.
What equipment will I need?
You will need a lead, treats, ball and a lot of patience. 🙂
